How does it work?

Any orders made within a calendar month will be send out for delivery on the 15th of the following month.

E.g. orders made between the 1st and 31st of July will be sent on the 15th of August.

Every month we create limited edition science kits. Each kit is made to order and includes four science activities.

Do I need any science knowledge?

No! All our kits are created with full step by step instructions and diagrams, along with simple science explanations. It has all been created with the child in mind, but if your science is a bit rusty then we’re sure you’ll find it fascinating too!

How much does it cost?

Find out about all our up to date costings and offers here! Our rolling subscription starts at £24.95 per month with optional extras to add equipment for an extra child. You can also buy just one month or pay for 3,6, or 12 month upfront.

What’s inside each box?

Each box contains almost everything you need to do 3 or 4 experiments. It also contains an exclusive science magazine packed full of extra activities, facts and quizzes!

The only things we will ask you to supply are a few household basics like water, an old jam jar, washing up liquid etc. We’ll let you know if you need any of these prior to receiving your box!

Do I need to buy the starter kit?

No, however it does provide you with your very own science lab. The starter kit includes a variety of science equipment like beakers, pipettes and goggles (see exactly whats in the starter kit here). All the equipment will be referenced throughout your subscription however everything can be substituted for things you should be able to find in your kitchen.

We strongly recommend googles for some of our experiments but swimming googles are a good substitute.

Are the experiments safe?

Yes! They are all safe, however things can always go wrong no matter how safe they are! Always follow the health and safety instructions found in each box.

The European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) has compiled a special list of substances that are allowed in children’s chemistry sets (EN 71-4). We only use substances from this list and we have identified the safest way to carry out all our practicals.

All experiments come with detailed step by step guides and diagrams to ensure that each experiment is carried out safely.

Can I buy and individual kit?

Can my child do it by themselves?

Our boxes are designed especially for children between the ages of 6 and 11. The activities are accessible for this whole age range but depending on your own child’s ability they may need more or less assistance. It is important that all instructions are read and followed very carefully and we often recommend an adult oversee some experiments. Some activities are designed so the child can get on by them selves completely, but if your child is at the younger end of the age range they may need more assistance.

Do the boxes support the national curriculum?

No. We wanted the freedom for our kits to contain a variety of science activities and experiments when we feel it is relevant or topical. There are always cross-links with what is done at school but we like to offer your child that little bit extra.

Can I gift a box to someone?

Yes we have a variety of gift options available. starting at 3 months. See all our gift options here.
